Poetson Wine

Alex McNeely founded Poetson Wine in 2023 after spending a decade as a Beverage Director and Sommelier in New York City. He returned to his Southwest Michigan roots to craft wines that speak of place and tradition.

Poetson is made in Buchanan, Michigan with a goal to express Michigan terroir through minimal-intervention winemaking. Poetson works with vineyards up and down Lake Michigan's shore—from the Lake Michigan Shore AVA up to the Old Mission Peninsula and Leelanau Peninsula AVAs—farmed by growers who share a commitment to quality and sustainability.

Alex's winemaking approach centers on transparency. By using native yeasts and working without additions, beyond what's in the grape itself, each wine reflects its origins. The current portfolio features Michigan-grown Vinifera varieties, including Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Grüner Veltliner.

ACB crafted a handdrawn brand identity and label design that reflected the transparent, human-led winemaking process that matches the premium quality of the finished product.
